As the weather turns warm and sunnier days are upon us, It's nice to take a moment to reflect on the beauty of the coming Spring season and all that it entails:
Birth, blooms, birds, butterflies, baskets, and bunnies!
The signs of Spring are everywhere.
But can we talk about that whole bunny thing for a moment?
Where exactly did Easter's egg-bearing, chocolate-bringing rabbit tradition come from in the first place? I was curious.
Interestingly, the idea of the Easter bunny may have originated from the Anglo-Saxon goddess, Eostre. She represented the Spring equinox, rebirth, and life renewal, which explains the egg association, symbolizing fertility. The hare represented Eostre, though it wasn't until 17th century Europe that the rabbit became the wildly popular component of the Easter celebration. Early German traditions had a "hare" bringing a basket of decorated eggs that would then be hidden around the home for children to find.
Today the bunny rabbit is deeply embedded as a symbol of Easter and resurrection, along with all the yummy candies and chocolate eggs, of course.
Bunnies and Easter go hand in hand, and in the spirit of the season, we here at Passion Flower Beauty have created some lovely handmade Spring and Easter-themed soaps, bath bombs, and much more that will make the perfect addition to any festive Easter basket.
Peeps that Won't Give You a Stomach Ache
Our handmade Peeps bath bombs come in a set of six and feature a rainbow of colors (made with natural colorants) with various scents to boot, including strawberry, bubble gum, and green apple. And unlike the sugary, sticky marshmallow candy Peeps, these Peeps do not have 34 grams of sugar per serving.
Made from rich kaolin clay to soothe sensitive skin and both shea and cocoa butter for a deeply moisturizing effect, Peeps bath bombs make bathtime both relaxing and fun.
Check out these other Easter basket bath bomb options as well!
Unicorn Sparkle Soap and Duckling
Who doesn't love a unicorn-duckling hybrid? Our avian friends, such as baby ducks and chickens, seem to go hand-in-hand with Easter as well as the ever-present bunny. Though I do not recommend bathing with live ones, I do recommend this guy: truth be told, he makes a wonderful springtime companion for a little one's evening bath. He sits atop a handmade soap created from coconut milk, which does a stellar job contributing to (and preserving) the skin's moisture while remaining deeply cleansing. In addition, biodegradable glitter gives this guy his extraordinary sparkle power.Yes,there is such a thing as biodegradable glitter, and we are so happy to provide it to your kiddo’s bathtime without the toxins and plastics found in other glitter products.
(For those who'd love to experience the hydrating power of coconut milk soap but don't necessarily need the bathtime friend tagging along, try the essential-oil infused citrus ginger soap.)
Butterfly Kisses Are The Best Kinds Of Kisses
Butterfly kisses soap rocks are another beautiful addition to the Easter basket. These handmade bath soap rocks are not only lovely to look at, but they make a whimsical addition to bathtime. Made with coarse grain sea salt and all-natural glycerin, these bath soap rocks are vegan-friendly and are an excellent option for those with skin sensitivities. In addition, bath rocks are just plain fun, along with being aesthetically pleasing and good for your skin.
